Courier Regime in Argentina

To avoid the retention of shipments from abroad, it is crucial to inform yourself in advance about the existing regimes for shipments via courier and their limitations.

Here, we provide you with a summary of the main regimes you should know:

Simplified regimen

This regime is intended for shipments for consumption or sale in a simplified manner, in accordance with Resolution No. 2436/1996 (ANA). The requirements are:

Maximum value: The value of the goods must not exceed USD 1,000 per flight.

Maximum weight: Total shipment weight must be up to 50 kg.

Commercial purpose: May have commercial purposes.

This procedure cannot be used when the goods:

• Exceed USD 1,000 FOB.
• Are subject to customs identification (tax stamps).
• Require the intervention of other organizations.
• They need a Certificate of Origin.
• Benefit from special tax regimes.

Small Shipping Regime

This regime is for shipments for private use without commercial purposes. Requirements include:

Maximum quantity: Up to 3 units of the same item or species.

Maximum weight: No more than 50 kg.

Maximum value: Less than or equal to USD 1,000 per flight.

Frequency: Up to 5 times per calendar year and per person.

This regime is exempt from several regulations, including the intervention of the National Food Institute and economic restrictions.
